What it does and who it’s for

Deciding whether a video or a channel is worth it needs data YouTube doesn’t put in front of you: how it performs against videos of the same age, whether the niche is saturated, whether the channel is monetised, how much it may be earning. Working that out by hand means opening tabs, doing sums and losing your train of thought.

TubeKRadar works them out and shows them where you’re already looking. Every video carries its score, its main signal and its niche; hovering reveals views per hour, opportunity tier and the comparison with similar videos. The channel panel sums up the verdict, performance, scores and best-performing videos.

It’s built for people hunting a niche or studying the competition before they film: Shorts channels, faceless channels, agencies, anyone who wants to know whether a format can be repeated. And whatever you find can be saved for later and analysed with AI in Kuak Studio.

How to use it

Install it and open YouTube

There’s nothing to configure to get going. As soon as you open YouTube, thumbnails start carrying their score and niche.

Choose what you want to see

From the extension icon, “Show on YouTube” turns the three layers on and off separately: thumbnails, video page and channel page.

Open a video or a channel

The panel unfolds next to the player or in the channel header, with the score dial, the metrics and an explanation of each one on hover.

Scan a niche

“Niche Scan” walks the feed in front of you, scrolling by itself — from 1 to 50 passes — and flags the real opportunities. You can also type what to search for and scan the results directly.

Save what’s useful

One click on the bookmark over a thumbnail saves the video to your account. Saved videos don’t expire and appear in Kuak Studio, under YouTube → Saved.

Export or analyse

“Export video data” downloads whatever you tick into a file: title, tags, chapters, comments, metrics and more. And “AI analysis” pulls out the script, the thumbnail prompt or alternative titles.

Score dial The score reads like an instrument, with tick marks; it fills once on appearance and stops.
Video metrics Views, views per hour, likes, comments, engagement, age and publish date.
Monetisation and estimated revenue Estimated CPM and monetisation status, with the reason it was inferred.
Collapsible Short panel It closes and remembers your choice; a small handle stays to reopen it.
Follows YouTube’s theme Light or dark to match yours, and it changes with you without a reload.

Channel panel

Verdict and performance Size, trend, views per day, publishing frequency and average duration.
Channel scores Monetisation, repeatability, reliance on viral hits and share of Shorts.
Estimated monthly revenue With a formula robust to recent viral spikes, and only when the channel appears monetised.
Top videos The highest performers by views per day, with a warning if the visible sample is small.

Niche Scan

Auto-scroll from 1 to 50 passes It walks the feed by itself, gathers the visible videos and sends them off to be scored.
Search and scan You type what to look for, the extension opens the search on YouTube and scans the results.
Results in a panel The opportunities found are listed separately, sorted, with the best one flagged.
Allowance in sight The button says how many scans you have left and when they return; if none are left it dims and explains why.

Export data

You pick what to export Title, description, tags, hashtags, chapters, comments, thumbnail, metrics, engagement, channel data and a note of your own.
Calculated figures included Views per day and per hour, score, outlier score, estimated CPM and revenue, niche and sub-niche.
It shows the filename Before downloading you know what it will be called; if a field couldn’t be read, it says which.

Saved videos and AI analysis

Saving is free It spends no credits and no scans: you only need to be signed in, because the list belongs to your account.
Up to 300 saved videos They don’t expire and appear in Kuak Studio, under YouTube → Saved.
Full video script Turns the captions into a clean, readable script.
Thumbnail prompt Writes the image prompt that recreates that thumbnail, looking at the real one.
Ten alternative titles In the same style as the original.
Full analysis The three above plus “why it works” — hook, structure and SEO — and improvements, at a discount over ordering them separately.
Videos with no captions If the page carries no captions, Kuak can pull them from the audio itself; that’s charged separately and warned about first.

What each analysis costs: script 10 credits, thumbnail prompt 15, ten titles 8, and the full analysis 25 (20 if the video has no captions and no script is possible). If anything fails, the credits come back.

What it needs and what data leaves your machine

Chrome 116 or later (any Chromium-based browser works too).
It only acts on youtube.com. It touches no other site.
The figures on thumbnails and panels are worked out in your browser from what the YouTube page already shows.
What travels to api.kuaklabs.com is the Niche Scan — to be scored on the server — what you save and what you send for AI analysis. Nothing else.
It doesn’t read your YouTube history or your Google account: only the page you have open.
Settings and toggles are stored in Chrome’s local storage.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an account to see the stats?

No. Thumbnail scores, the video and channel panels and data export all work without signing in. The account is needed for Niche Scan, for saving videos and for AI analysis.

Where do the estimated earnings come from?

From an estimate of ours: median views per day per video, times the number of visible videos, times the CPM of the dominant niche, times YouTube’s revenue split. It’s an estimate, not a platform figure, and it says so on hover.

How many niche scans can I run?

With a free account, 2 per 24 hours. With Pro, 100. Without an account it isn’t available, because scanning is scored on our server.

Does saving a video cost credits?

No. Saving is free and no AI is involved. What costs credits is the analysis: script, titles, thumbnail prompt or the full analysis.

Can I get the script of any video?

Of any with captions, yes. If there are none, Kuak can transcribe the audio of videos up to 30 minutes; that’s charged separately and you’re told before it starts. Private, members-only and age-restricted videos can’t be read.

What are the 14 categories and 67 sub-niches?

The taxonomy TubeKRadar uses to classify every video and channel: 14 broad categories (Gaming, Finance, AI & Tech, Cooking…) and 67 sub-niches inside them (Trading, Faceless YouTube, Baking…).

Does it slow YouTube down?

The figures are worked out from what the page has already loaded, with no extra requests to YouTube. And you can turn thumbnails, video page and channel page off separately.

What format is the export?

A text file with the sections you ticked, and with the filename visible before you download.
