Comic book videos, generated with AI

Classic superhero comics: bold ink outlines, halftone shading, saturated primary colours and explosive action framing.

Scene generated by Kuak Studio in US Comic style

What it looks like

  • Thick ink outlines around everything.
  • Halftone dot shading, like on a printing press.
  • Saturated primary colours: red, blue and yellow.
  • Heroic poses and low camera angles.

What videos it suits

  • Action and comeback stories with an energetic tone.
  • Explaining comics, superhero films and pop culture.
  • History told as an adventure.

You write the scene; Studio handles the style

The style is never named in the script. Each line describes what is seen, and this is how one is written:

A caped hero lands in the middle of a cracked street while people watch from the pavements.

With this style, Studio suggests the Echo voice (a deep, calm male voice). You can swap it from the editor for any of the six, and use a different one on each line.

What to watch out for

Comics live on speech bubbles and captions, and here they cannot have them: the images are generated without text on purpose. The replacement is in the editor — text layers with the font you want — and it ends up better, because it is readable and you can fix it.

How it is done, step by step

  1. Pick the style before generating

When you create a video, Kuak Studio shows a gallery of 58 video templates: nine formats of its own and the 49 visual styles. You pick one and it applies to every scene in the video.

  2. Write the script, or ask for one

Each line of the script is a scene. That is where you describe what is seen — who is in it, where, and what happens — never the style: the template already handles that.

  3. Studio generates voice, images and captions

The voice is generated line by line and the images scene by scene, all in the same style. The captions come from the voice itself, so they stay in sync.

  4. You finish it in the editor

Change a sentence, regenerate only the scene that does not convince you, move the text, add music and export. The editor runs inside your browser and there is nothing to install.

  • The style is picked, not written. Kuak Studio applies it to every image in the video; in the script you only describe the scene.
  • Images come out with no text inside, on purpose: AI draws warped letters in the wrong language. Titles and captions go on editor layers, where they read properly and can be fixed.
  • Each scene is an image the editor gives camera movement to. It is not frame-by-frame animation, and saying so up front avoids expecting something else.

Frequently asked questions

Can I generate characters from well-known comics?
It is not a good idea, and the problem is legal rather than technical: a publisher’s characters are registered trademarks, and a video using them can end up taken down or claimed. The style reproduces the look of comics, not their characters; you describe your own in the script.
How is it different from Pop art?
US comic tells a scene with depth and action. Pop art is flatter and more graphic, almost a poster: it works for one idea per image, not for a story with movement.
Does it hold up vertically?
Yes, as long as the scene has one clear subject. Compositions with several characters crop badly to 9:16 and half the action ends up outside the frame.
