The bottleneck

Recreating a component you see on a website is a DevTools expedition

You spot a button, a card, or a hero you want to reuse. The markup is one click away, but the CSS isn't: it lives scattered across minified stylesheets, custom properties, inheritance chains, and media queries. Copying the HTML is easy — making it look the same outside the original site is the real work.

  1. Open DevTools and inspect the element.
  2. Copy the outerHTML, full of class names that mean nothing outside the site.
  3. Chase each class's CSS rules across several minified stylesheets.
  4. Manually resolve custom properties, inherited values, and relative units.
  5. Paste the result into your project… and it doesn't look the same.
  6. Back to DevTools to hunt for the missing rule.

That loop repeats for every component you want to rescue. AutoKuak Inspector cuts it down to one click: point at the element and walk away with its HTML and every computed style already resolved — the snippet looks identical outside the site, no chasing required.

How it works

From on-screen element to snippet in 4 steps

AutoKuak Inspector works on the active tab: turn on the picker, capture, tweak, and copy. No prior setup and no leaving the page you're inspecting.

  1. 1

    Activate

Turn on the inspector on any website from the extension icon. Picker mode lights up over the page you already have open.

  2. 2

    Point

Hover and the exact element highlights. Want the whole card, not just the title? Walk up or down the DOM tree to refine the selection before capturing.

  3. 3

    Live-edit

Optional: tweak copy, colors, and spacing on the page itself, seeing the result instantly, before taking the snippet with you.

  4. 4

    Copy or save

Copy the self-contained HTML+CSS to the clipboard or save it to your reusable snippet library for later.

The resulting snippet is self-contained: AutoKuak Inspector extracts the markup with every computed style already resolved — custom properties replaced by their final values, inheritance applied, units calculated. It drags no stylesheets from the original site and doesn't depend on its cascade: paste it into your project and it looks the same.

Features

Visual picker, self-contained snippets, live editing

Five pieces built for a single goal: getting the component you see on screen into your project, looking exactly the same, in seconds.

Visual picker

Hover to highlight the exact element (or walk up/down the DOM tree to adjust the scope) and capture it with one click.

Self-contained HTML+CSS

Extracts the markup with every computed style resolved — zero dependencies on the original site. The snippet looks the same outside it.

Live editing

Tweak copy, colors, and spacing right on the page before copying — what you see is exactly what you take.

Copy & library

Copy the snippet to the clipboard or save it to your reusable snippet library, organized and always at hand.

100% local

Everything happens in your browser: extraction, editing, and library. Nothing is uploaded to any server.

Privacy

Everything happens in your browser

AutoKuak Inspector reads the DOM and computed styles of the active tab, locally. Neither the pages you inspect, nor the snippets you extract, nor your library ever leave your machine.

Minimal permissions, zero servers

It only uses standard extension permissions on the active tab — what's needed to highlight the element and read its markup and styles. It fires no requests to external services, sends no content analytics, and the snippet library is stored in the browser's local storage.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What people ask us about AutoKuak Inspector ahead of launch.

When does AutoKuak Inspector launch?

Very soon. The extension is in final development and the install button will go live right here, on this page, as soon as it's published on the Chrome Web Store. Meanwhile you can explore the rest of the suite from the AutoKuak hub.

Does it work on any website?

Yes — on any page that loads in your browser. AutoKuak Inspector works on the DOM and computed styles of the active tab, so it doesn't depend on the site's framework, CMS, or stack: if it renders on your screen, it can be captured.

Does the extracted CSS depend on the original site?

No — it's self-contained. AutoKuak Inspector resolves every computed style (custom properties, inheritance, units) at capture time and generates an HTML+CSS snippet with no references to the site's stylesheets. The component looks the same pasted into any project.

Does it need special permissions?

No. It only uses standard extension permissions on the active tab — what's needed to highlight the element under the cursor and read its markup and styles. No invasive permissions, no background access to your browsing.

Is it 100% local? Are my snippets uploaded anywhere?

It's 100% local, no servers. Extraction, live editing, and the snippet library all happen entirely in your browser. Neither the pages you inspect nor the snippets you save ever leave your machine.

Will it be included in the Pro plan?

Yes — AutoKuak Inspector will be included in the same KuakLabs Pro plan that covers the rest of the suite. One subscription, every extension.

Which browsers will it work on?

Chrome, Edge, and Brave. Like the rest of the suite, it ships from the Chrome Web Store and behaves the same on modern Chromium-based browsers.
